Rainbows Stained Grey

She walked around the fields of sin,
she marched through them as the sun sank
and disappeared through the fluorescent hills.
It was all fluorescent in her fucked up sight,
she swore she saw what wasn't there,
she could count the cows flying by.
A halo of smoke gave her a saintly image,
smoke tainted every color the human eye can catch.
Her body reeked of sex and lust,
it smelled of disappointment,
you couldn't, however, smell any joy.
Her dress was once imprinted with a heart on her chest,
anyone could tell you it didn't used to have so many stains.
Yet something changed after that sea of different colored circles went down her throat
it was all quite odd after all that fuss.
No one wanted the girl with the glassy eyes,
no one wanted to invite her for that 'one more glass'.
Her insides were rotten, she was more down there than here,
not even her mother recognized her in that state.
But she kept the evening strolls like there was no tomorrow,
making her stops on every fucked up place,
exchanging quarters for death.
The poor girl forgot that pain was not the normal life,
she didn't know any other life anymore,
wouldn't even recognize homeostasis if it hit her right in the face.
