You're Too Late..

I took your hand
And lead you to the light
Did you not see?
That every moment I did fight

I lifted you up
And got you though
Yet I fall from the burden
Of helping you

So you stand there
Acting all might and tall
I was the one who got you there
But now you watch me fall

From there I fall to the ground,
Straight down
Then your laughing smile
Turns to a frown

You finally realize what you did
You finally feel the pain I’ve always hid

You rush down to help me out
You call my name and shout and shout
But my body did not make it out

You see,
When I fell I hit my head
Can’t you see?
You are the reason I’m now dead

You’re too late
To help me now
The things you did
Were oh so foul

At my last living moments
I thought of you
I’m one out of few
To see the real you

I thought of the times
You lied to me
It broke me down every time
Did you not see?

I thought of the times
You pretended you care
Of those “truthful moments”
I thought we shared

I thought of the times
You embarrassed me in front of them
How did I ever call you
My best friend?

So now my body lies limp
In your arms
And you cry out
Your many wrongs

I gave you
Chance after chance
But you never gave it
Another glance

So next time you discover a friend,
So true
Remember there’s only
A very small few

Don’t lose that one
Like you lost me
What goes around comes around
Just you wait and see
