Backfire.

What did you say
When I told you that I thought
It was better off this way?

You told me that you would love me
Until the end of all eternity.
I thought it was funny,
But none the less accepted it for what it was
Promising myself I would be back again.

I give it time,
Which is hard to get,
And I come back.

I kept my promise
To find you broken.

Threatening to die,
To leave me,
I realized my oppressive obligation,
And how closely it bubbled to the surface,
Threatening to explode
[And it truly did, at that!]

You say nonsense,
And I take it as truth.

You try to love me,
And I take it as lies.

I try to love you too,
And you think it's all a joke.

I love you back,
And you don't move.

I love you,
From the depths of my soul,
Unceasingly,
But you're gone.

Before I can utter a single word,
You're gone.

Gone physically,
But gone from me as well.

No matter how badly it hurts,
I keep loving.

I keep breaking.
