No Way Out

A cryptic smile unfurls itself,
As my self-induced euphoria sets in.
The walls spin and my head moves rhythmically.

I glance to my left,
As the small bag of white powder,
Becomes illuminated with a kaleidoscope of colors.

My mind wanders,
Becoming more nostalgic,
With each passing second.

And suddenly my happiness,
Is over-taken with grief and guilt.
Grim events of my past,
Plague my once content thoughts.

I become entrapped by my own ghoulish nightmares.
Lost in a black abyss,
Sucking any trace of happiness from my soul.
There’s no way out,
There’s no way out.
