Guilty

Guilty...

From the day I met you, I knew It was love.
That first look at you, I knew you were different.
To all the other people, who don’t give a damn.
You looked at me, and said you cared.
I believed you that day.

A bigger mistake, I could not have made.
After a week, you went away.
I thought you cared, I needed you to care.
But you didn’t…You lied to me…That rainy day.

I remember still…That day in the park.
He told me he loved me…And I told him…
I loved him back.
A bigger mistake, I could not have made.
A bigger lie, he could not have told.

He didn’t love me. It was all a big joke.
He didn’t care…My heart was to break.
From that moment on…I have never loved.
From that first lie…Never to trust again.

I will never trust again.
Never make the same mistakes.
I will never love…After that one rainy day.
Alone on the swing…I sit with a gun.
Hidden by shadows, for no one to see.

One pull of the trigger, this night will end.
I will escape the pain, that boy caused me.
Gun to my head, I feel the cold tip…
One pull of the trigger…No need to care.

They hear the noise…Of a gun firing.
Running to the park…To the swings.
A young girl sitting, slumped over the swing.
Her hand holding none other…Than her father’s gun.

She stole it last night…And he didn’t notice.
She jumped out her window, ran as fast as she could.
To the park she used to love, where her first love broke her heart.

The end of her life…He knows he’s guilty.
He broke her heart…She killed herself.
All because of him.
His lesson is learnt…Never to lie again.
And from that day on, for the next 20 years,
He has kept his promise, to never lie.
Guilty…
