My Favourite Cat

My Cat Patches
Patches was a nervous cat
He was eight weeks old
When I got him
Though he looked ten weeks
Patches was very beautiful
In my opinion
He had grey on him
Black as well
But mostly white
He lived to see Stinky
Blacky and my hamsters
My Mom always said Patches had a lovely face
But I thought Patches was lovely everywhere
When I came home after school
I ran into the lounge
And there Patches would be waiting for me
He would be on his chair
Sitting like a statue like he always did
I would call Patches and have my arms wide open for him
He would jump off the chair
And run to the middle of the carpet
And lie on his back
Waiting for me to rub his stomach
Patches loved to purr
But only for me and my Dad
My Mom didn’t love Patches
Because she thought he was ugly
Patches and Stinky were best friends
Patches knew Blacky as a kitten
And they used to play all the time
But then Blacky died
Then we got Stinky
But Stinky will take up another poem
When my parents and I
Were going to get my puppy
We opened the door
And there was my baby
Lying on the porch
Dead and stiff
But even though he is dead
Patches will always be my perfect cat
And know cat can replace him
No cat can replace
