A Loss
When someone loses a person they love
All they want is for them to come back
They would do anything, anything at all, just to see them one more time
When someone loves a person, they care about them and for them and never wish for bad
When a loved one dies there is no greater pain
Everyone grieves, they miss them more than ever
It feels like a part of them is missing
Like a piece of a puzzle they just can’t get back
But they would do anything to have the missing piece back
To complete the puzzle
Greater pain is having seen them suffer before they died
Watching them cry out in pain and beg for death
Knowing that all they wanted inside was to die, for the pain to stop
But also knowing they don’t wish to leave you
They don’t wish for you to be sad, to grieve for them
But you do
Seeing them alive for the last time and saying goodbye
Hoping that even though they were sleeping, they heard you whisper I love you
That they felt you kiss their cheek, felt the tears on their cheek
You cry and cry and cry some more
You beg for God to cure them, to bring them back when they’re gone
Or you thank God for making their misery end, but still beg for their return
You hope and pray that the people you love and have lost watch over you
And you talk to them, believing they can hear you
But at the same time hope they can’t hear you cry every night
When you are alone
No witnesses around
You think of the good memories which make you cry
But crying is worth it if the memories are priceless
You remember how they were there for you when others weren’t
How they would help you solve your problems
Losing someone you love is the greatest pain
But knowing they are happy, out of pain, and watching over you makes it partly okay
Still you wonder, will it ever be completely okay?
