The Lake

Ringed by tall wide trees
minnows dart among your toes
the faraway drone of bees
here, only peace can grow

Wind gently whispers in your ear
of solitude and purity
there is not a thing to fear
mind filled with sudden clarity

Cup clear water in your hands
let it trickle down your bare arms
no conflict, strife, or demands
a haven safe from all harm

Drift along and rest in peace
let the water carry you away
all troubles gone, live in ease
you can, forever, happily stay
