"Who Are We?"

“Do you know who you are?”

Who am I?
Do you know?
Because I don’t know

“No . . . only you know”

Can you at least guess?
As to who or what I am?

I do know this
My People
People like me . . .

See the moon
As dark
As blood
But as bright
As the sun
The moon
Intoxicates me
I could stare up at it
For hours on end

Most misunderstand me . . . us
Don’t understand

Our canines protrude from the mouth
Our fangs protrude from the mouth
I should say

We are Hells dogs
We feed like dogs
We feast on our banquets
Some you wouldn’t even call a banquet
Because we can’t satisfy our thirst and hunger

We are into the old fashion
And into the new

Some prefer a freezer
Some prefer the soil from their homeland
Some prefer a coffin
I prefer a bed with a nice mattress

We are the pale ones
We are as pale as ghosts most say

That’s just because they don’t understand us
The don’t want to understand us or me

Friends are useless . . . worthless
But in the same way useful and worth it
Love is the same way

Why do you have to misunderstand?
Why can’t you understand?
As to who or what I am
Or what we are

We are all brothers and sisters right?
So why can’t we understand
Get along with each other

The suns rays can not hurt me
A cross can not hurt me
Holly water can not hurt me
Nothing can hurt me
Nothingness
Loneliness
Can and does hurt though
For I have feelings too
But at the same time I don’t feel
For anything . . . or anyone

I know who I am now
I know who I will always be
I am . . .
Sabrina Ericha Elizabeth Wolf
And I am . . .
A pureblooded vampire
Just like my Father and Older Brother

. . . Why do you sit there . . .?
Silent and motionless?
Do you fear me . . .
Like everyone else?

“No . . . I could never fear you . . .
For we are the same . . . and because . . .
I love you”

As do I my dear
As do I
