Drink and Drive

"Daddy stop the car,
Daddy please slow down.
Daddy, you're going to fast."

Me and Ma cried,
It was hard to believe.
You were gone,
It could have been me.

"Daddy, slow down.
Daddy, I'm scared we're gonna hit the ground.
Daddy, put down that bottle daddy.
Just turn around daddy!
I can't take this,
You're gonna hurt me!"

All the times,
me and ma cried.
Let out tears,
Trying to hide.
You hurt us daddy.
It was hard to believe,
you weren't coming back.
Every time I think of that, daddy,
Me and ma start to weep.

"Daddy, I thought I was your princess,
I thought I mattered.
If I matter, daddy,
Just slow down, Please.
Daddy, I'm getting scared.
You're going pretty fast!
Daddy, watch out for that wall,
Stop it now daddy!"

You told me you were going to stop at the bar.
I believed you daddy,
Then when we went to go home.
You went pretty fast,
You said we were almost there,
When I asked you to slow down.
You told me to shut up,
and said we were almost home.
You kept speeding up,
And drinking vodka.

" Daddy, NO!
Watch out for that car!
Daddy, save me!
Stop the car!
Daddy, I love you,
You were my hero.
Why are you going so fast,
Why couldn't you just stop at the red light?!
Daddy, tell me, daddy!"

You swirled away from that car,
And hit that wall.
When we hit that wall,
I saw you look back at me.
Smile at me.
And blow one last kiss to me.
I cried, you saw me cry.
I heard you daddy,
Don't think I didn't!
I heard your last words,
And I want you to know,
I love you too.

Daddy you taught me something,
Don't drink and drive.
Daddy, I was only five.
Now I know,
Daddy, you taught me this,
Drink and drive,
I'll be like you,
and end up in a casket.
