Love was a razorblade, indeed

Strolling down this path of misery
The angel averted his gaze to the sky
Begging his Father to forgive his treachery
His wings were broken, never would he fly

And the pain, o the pain, he felt deep in his heart
It tore him apart
It ripped him apart

Dark metal nails
Kept piercing through his skin
His punishment was this
The snake was inside him

But he wept, o how he wept
For forgiveness he begged
And the angel only wept
For this torment was like nothing he had felt

He was cursed, so wrongly cursed
To live on earth, a place he hated deep inside
His love for a woman was a feeling unblessed
That love was like a razorblade, he never bore in mind

And Father said: “Thou art a sinner, thy punishment is this”
And dropped him on the earth, as a human, taking away his wings
The angel walked, the path of misery he went along
The angel talked, to the woman he had loved not long ago
He said: “The price I paid for this love was to lose my wings
But, my love, I do not regret it, marry me, will you, please?”

The woman cried out loud, as she hugged him so tight
She said she was dying; her days were over, ‘till this night
The angel was shocked, such gruesome fate he could not believe
He had lost everything, but without his love, how would he live?

... then a thought crossed his mind...
He said: “Weep no more, my love, for this is both our last night”
He picked up a razorblade, so beautiful, shining silver
And said: “With this, we shall die together, beside this river
And the snow will turn deep red, and to eternity we are wed”
Then he slit through his veins, the same as she did
Their love was the strongest, and love was a razorblade, indeed...
