Unfaithful, Broken Love

A tear escaped my eye
I watched you silently
as your faithfulness ran dry

Your soul flew out through the open door
and you screamed to the night
and your wrists were sore

The bleeding cuts
were a tragedy of their own
so you sang to yourself to stop the moan

But it escaped your sweet lips
and my heart sank to the floor
as I concluded, our love was no more

The earth shook, as did my hands
when I set out in the night
to get my revenge

It was like watching you
but this stranger was not kind

Now we wallow in shame,
hurt, sin, and self-pity
and my heart will never be the same

Somewhere outside the world must pay
though they're not at fault
they still have no say

The angels fall from the darkening sky
our shattered song rang out
now the angels will die
