The Golden Girl

The golden girl stands
on a mountain high
she stands above them all
so they can't see her cry.

Her long golden hair
sways with the wind in the fall
it falls in her face,
covering tears so small.

In winter, her tears
in the snow leave a stain.
In spring, her tears
aren't hidden by the rain.

It is said, those who travel
to see the girl of gold
have never returned
to have the story told.

No one has confirmed
the legend of her tears
the one so sad,
giving children new fears.

The legend says
that upon her golden cheeks
you only have a second
to see the crimson streaks.

She'll suck out your eyes, eat your flesh
hide your bones in mud
If you ever go to see
her falling tears of blood.

So the golden girl stands
on her mountain so high
waiting for people so curious
of the blood she cries.
