Hide Away

He grew up all alone.
Knew nothing of light.
His future was dim, not very bright.
He was so shy.
He was told to hide away.
And into his hiding place he’d stay.
All he’d ever knew was night.
And his battle with demons he’d fight.
Hidden away, forever, in shame.
Yet no one knew his name.
No one even cared.
That he was never there.
No one knew but he.
And that’s the way it should be.
Until one day, a little girl,
With long brown hair and lots of curls.
Came to his hiding place
Of darkly shadows and mystical space.
And found him, asleep in bed.
She fell in love, and kissed his forehead.
It was she who brought him to the light.
Ended his world of unending night.
Now, he no longer hides away.
He is free of those chains today.
