Lullaby

It's twilight again, and I must say,
This must be my time of the day.

Buzzing in my head are the secrets we kept,
And I could tell,
The stars weren't done with me yet.

The shadow of you could drive someone insane,
But then I remember,
Insanity's my name.

In the night,
I must remember how to fight,
My voice of reason in my head is like a weight,
Who swerved into a new silent state.

The silence I hear in the moonlight's wake
Just remind me to stay calm for it's sake.

And as I wait for the early morning sun to take what's mine,
I remember that it's okay to cry sometimes.
