Unheard Screams

Curled up in a ball,
a little girl cries.
Blood splattered against the wall.
Duct tape across her mouth,
to keep each scream in.
Not to let one get out.
Between all the tears,
the little girl screams,
at all her small fears.
She screams and screams.
But not one is heard.
God how she wishes to see her own blood stream.
She cries, "I'm sorry."
Taking her life with a razor blade.
Her last words, "Don't worry."
As her mother runs to the sight.
Before her very eyes,
her baby's life light.
It died.
That unfaithful night,
each year the mother blames herself.
Because she was to late.
