Diamonds

Diamonds

I wish I was a diamond
One that sparkled unlike the rest
To shine with such beauty
To be rare and amazing

But I am a stone
A small, tiny stone
Dim in colour,
Boring as such
Plain and unworthy

I was once nearly your diamond
You picked me out of all the others
My colours began to show
Beauty was upon me
But you threw me back amongst all the rest

I wish I was diamond
Your diamond, to be precise
To be seen as beautiful, rare and amazing
But I am only a stone
Looked down upon by you
Dim in colour,
Boring as such
Plain and unworthy

I wish I was a diamond
