Cards Represent Life

We see life as,
A deck of cards,
That can crush dreams,
Wide and far.

An unfamiliar face,
On his face, is a grin,
He’s the dealer of the cards,
He deals the cards with sin.

Facedown cards,
Appear in my hand,
Do I dare to turn them over?
Or do I dare just to stare?

A grip these cards tightly,
They are all that I’ve ever had,
I could just tear them apart,
Make it a new fad.

A cloud that surrounded my eyes,
From seeing the dealers true face,
Somehow disappeared,
It suddenly was displaced.

A familiar face stains my mind,
The face of my first true love,
Her eyes are as black as her heart,
Then she flies away, like a dove.

I stare into the night sky,
In darkness, all alone,
I finally turn over the cards,
That have haunted me for so long.

They reveal an eternity of loneliness
No one to love, no one to hold.
This is what is destined to happen,
This is what the cards have told
