Personal Dictionary

Who knows the answer?
Who has the authority to decide?
It’s hard to tell
When society says no
And loved ones say yes
My mirror whispers silently to me
And I will translate its message as I see fit

Will anyone ever be satisfied?
Will I ever be happy?
What do I see when I stare into glass?
When I swim in chocolate pools
Or when I slide down a dark curl?
What do I see when the mirror smiles?
When I smile?

We set the bar,
Yet how many can reach it?
Gods and goddesses fill the media
You HAVE to be this way,
You HAVE to wear this.
Do I?
What if I don’t want to?
What does that make me?

Please someone tell me,
Who knows the answer?
I would really like to know.
Because truly,
What is beauty?

You need no OFFICAL definition,
Merely your own.

What do YOU see when you stare into glass?
When YOU smile?
When YOU laugh?
Because I know I what I see
What the mirror sees
We see a person
Who is willing to except herself.
We see you
We see true beauty.
