Winter

I saw the snow begin to fall,
I knew the weather was getting cold.
As I watched the snowflakes dance in the air,
I couldn't help but feel
The overwhelming sorrow of the icy breezes
Blowing my bliss away.

They hid from me that fact
That the time was getting closer.
But I already grasped what was coming.
Didn't they know I saw the blizzard?
Didn't they know I could hear the whispers of the freezing wind?

The snow fell harder,
The wind blew more fiercely,
Blowing at my flame of hope that was now barely lit.
I sense it approaching,
It's almost here now.

Tonight I heard the news,
A cold, crisp ringing broke the calm with raw words.
Winter has arrived.
And if I try to cry,
My tears will be frozen into ice.
