Wolf's Song

A wolf trots along a snow trail,
Looking up at the sky,
Feeling the snowflakes fall silently.
Black wisps along her eyes,
Make it look like tears,
Falling from her amber eyes.
Blood still stained her paws and white fur,
from the slaughter of her pack.
The Natives say,
If a wolf kills her own kind,
to save another kind,
it is instinct, and trust.
The wolf continues to trot along a blank trail,
to see her commrade.
A white bobcat,
was lying there with a broken leg.
Her pack was about to eat the cat,
until the wolf attacked her lover's throat,
and her brother's heart.
The wolf gently nudges the cat,
gently waking the cat from a sleep
that might've killed her.
