Amanda

You are bright, shining,
A waypoint in this galaxy.
Among all these stars,
You shine brightest.

Your eyes twinkle,
Laughter dancing within their depths.
Your smile is radiant,
Outshining the sun.

You are pure,
Without adornments.
You wear no masks,
Conceiling nothing from those held deep within your heart.

Your kisses are sweet,
Innocent and seductive all at once.
Your hugs are warm,
Embraces given with meaning.

You are a caretaker of my soul,
Soothing my mind when I am torn.
You are a balm,
That heals all wounds.

With you,
No one is truly watching.
They may be looking,
But they do not truly see.

We play in a world,
A world of our own making.
Here,
The butterflies truly dance, The birds truly sing.

Undoubtedly,
We will grow older together.
We will harvest our wrinkles,
While clutching our sides from too much laughter.

Now is but a rest,
A time between our celebrations.
You seem so far away,
But are truly only a short span of time from me.

Hold me closer.
For one moment more.
I'm feeling nostalgic.
Because you're gone,
Even when you're standing next to me.
