Forget It

Helium filled balLoons
Laugh at you as if they are crows
as they zig zag their way into oblivion

You used to hold on so tight
to its yellow string for so long
But its vibrant colors have faded to an ill colored bronze. It slipped.

Helium filled balLoons cover the sky
Blocking dreams from our
mind's eye

You used to be able to see
Your reflection in it
But the image is now scratched
and faded

Helium filled balLoons
never come closer to present
Tears vibrate into nothingness

Bite your lip if you will
'Cause no screams would be enough
To bring them back
Watch from the sidelines. Wave goodbye.

Helium filled balLoons
Get Lost. Turns you numb.
They aren't there

You no longer hold helium filled balloons
'Cause you hold a rock instead
Oh no. . .
Look at what you've done.
