Love

[[There was a forum by a girl on myyearbook, saying how love was a burden, and that she didn't see the fun in having to depend on someone else for life. How everyone said "love" and by doing so, diminished the meaning of such a powerful word. I did not agree with her. This is what I replied.]]

I admit that I do throw the word "love" around a lot.

"I love that movie!"

"I love this song so much."

"Oh my god I love that shirt."

But that doesn't mean that it takes the meaning of the word away.

If I loved someone as the word should be meant, they would know.

Being in love with someone isn't depending solely on them. It's more like
finding someone who is yours, and you theirs. I'm not sure how to explain it
adequately, but it hurts that you look so negatively on it.

Fun, my friend, is a gross understatement. It's that feeling you get, that
tingling throughout your entire body, every time you think of that person. It's
the suddenly fast beating of your heart when they walk into the room. It's
having something to look forward to every day. It's a reason to actually let
yourself wake up in the morning and drag yourself through the rest of your
day.

Loving someone isn't a burden. It should never be, and if it is, it isn't really
love.

Being in love isn't something to be proud of. It's not something to be ashamed
of, either.

Explaining this to someone who can't see the significance is difficult...

I have a question for you, maybe something you don't want to answer. If you do,
just message me or whatever, because I'll probably never open this forum again
unless I want to see the initial reply.

Has something happened to you to make you believe that love is such a horrible
thing?

If so, then forgive me for asking a personal question.

If not, then fine. Just think about it, and realize that love is something to be
treasured, something not everyone is graced with. Finding your other half is a
blessing, and should never be taken for granted.

[[Thank you for reading. Keep this in mind. It's true, and I'm sure that anyone who has ever been in love can agree... Love is a wonderful thing. Hold it to your heart, and never let go.
