A Dozen Black Roses

A dozen black roses,
For every deed I've not done;
A dozen black roses,
To keep the moon from the sun.

One rose:
For devious minds alike;
And so black,
Yes, as black as the night!

Two roses:
For defeat;
Like death,
I'd like to meet.

Three roses:
For being misunderstood;
Yes, yes,
Sometimes I wish I could.

Four roses:
For courage;
Just like a fox,
In all of his courage.

Five roses:
For love as black as the sea;
Six roses:
For this love you cannot see.

Seven roses:
For the flaws of heaven;
Eight roses:
Like fire that burns within.

Nine roses:
To hold death in passion;
Ten roses:
They create this new nation.

Eleven roses:
To eternally bond them forever;
And twelve roses:
For the poison that holds them together.

This be the dozen black roses,
That holds life by the threads;
I cannot believe,
This what people dread.
