Wannabe

Her world is burning down
but she has nothing to lose.
I’m holding on for her tonight,
But there isn’t hope.

How much did she pay
for the image she’s pulling off?
I asked her for the price
with a genuine smile.

Her smile is fading, now
just like the colour in her hair.
I’m telling her I promised,
But she doesn’t care.

How much did she pay
to give it all away?
I asked her to return
with a broken stare.

Her world is burning down
and she’s only lost it all.
I held on for one more night,
but she’s gone.
