Recognize This.

Let me tell you a little story.
I give you warning, this may get gory.
About a little girl who seeks attention.
She'll tell her tale, but fails to mention
the part of it that really matters.
She's whole on the outside, but her insides are shattered.
The is a tale of the manically depressed.
A truly cliche topic at it's best.

Little Lisa sits in the corner of the class.
Spewing words with potential, but she lacks the sass.
Rumours are spread, but she doesn't pay attention anymore.
This has gone on for much too long and her heart is far past sore.
She walks home alone that day.
And unlike every other, she keeps her feelings at bay.
Tears weren't needed just yet.
Not that it would matter, her plans were already set.

She sits in the tub, cold water soaking in.
She was about to commit what would be called a sin.
The past few years play again in her mind.
Not that she really needed the rewind.
Her mind is set, there was no reason to argue.
In fact, this little event was much overdue.
She grabs the razor and holds it close.
Always there when Lisa needs it the most.
She drags the sharpened steel across her skin.
Familiar territory, a place it's already been.
The blood drips into the water, quickly turning it red.
One drop for each word that was said.
Her eyelids feeling heavy, her limbs feeling numb,
She's waiting for that white light to come.
Placing the razor gently on the side,
It's over, it's done, no reason anymore to hide.

Sub-consciously she takes those pills.
The amount she took would've given you the chills.
One by one, she swallows them down.
And when she's done, she makes no sound.
She's going under, and no one's there to care.
She's far past gone on deciding what's fair.
Her parents found her later, floating lifeless in the red.
Picked her up, dried her off, and put her back in bed.

This is the end of the sad sad story.
I did give you warning, I said it'd get gory.
Please pay attention to little Lisa's tale.
That ended with a heart that started much too frail.
