Walk A Mile In My Shoes

Whispered words in quiet corners
Reassuring thoughts mean nothing at all
When I know he’s gunna say I taught her
How much it hurts to fall

Things get said behind my back
And even though I pretend not to care
I could knock the lot of em flat
If it’d teach em not to stare

No matter how hard I try
To convince them that their wrong
I can’t do it if I don’t believe it myself
Couldn’t even if they made me cry
And to solve the problem would take too long
But I don’t wanna leave this on the shelf
For the whole wide world to see

Swapping shoes leads to nothing
When you still don’t see things from my point of view
I swear I’d try any old something
Just to make my lies look true

Some help would be nice
But that’s like admitting defeat
Which would make it not once but twice
And I don’t think this will end so neat

Cause…

No matter how hard I try
To convince them that their wrong
I can’t do it if I don’t believe it myself
Couldn’t even if they made me cry
And to solve the problem would take too long
But I don’t wanna leave this on the shelf
For the whole wide world to see

Yea…

No matter how hard I try
To convince them that their wrong
I can’t do it if I don’t believe it myself
Couldn’t even if they made me cry
And to solve the problem would take too long
But I don’t wanna leave this on the shelf
For the whole wide world to see

Honesty hurts
And I wish you hadn’t told me
Cause it only made things worse
Especially when it was all to obvious to see

No matter how hard I try
To convince you that you’re wrong
I can’t do it if I don’t believe it myself
Couldn’t even if you made me cry
And to solve the problem would take too long
But I don’t wanna leave this on the shelf
For the whole wide world to see
