Lithocarpus

The kids at school called me short today,
With their heights four-two and three.
My mom says she believes
That three foot is perfect for me.

She says we’re made for one another,
Me and the big oak tree.
Because we’re opposites, she says;
One is big and tall, and the other is me.

“I wonder what the kids would say,
If I was as tall as you, great tree.
I wonder will they’ll think,
When they see someone hanging from your branches.

And the someone is me.”
