Faded Heart-Crusher, Circa Now

Finding out was the easiest part,
Living it down was another story.
I don't drink and I can't drive so
that leaves me to choke on your
words like it's going out of style.

Too many literal phrases with too much meaning,
This scene needs to quit the redundancy before it
starts to become a faded stereotype circa now.

Only there for the popularity, you'd crush a heart
if it meant you were friends with the cool kids.
Nothing can take you back, way back when
you didn't care so much. Life was grand then;
too grand perhaps. Here comes the conclusion:

You knew you passed me by, you did it deliberately.
I'll let you know, I'm leaving you this time.
I'll crush your heart if it means I can be
human again; are you still human?

Someday let's sit and talk about the good old days.
Did they even exist, these days of the golden age?
I wonder. And moreover, how did you know?
Maybe they weren't so golden after all.

Finding out was the easiest part,
Living it down was another story.

Too many literal phrases with too much meaning,
This scene needs to end before someone gets hurt;
You're much too scene, you deadbeat heart-crusher.
