Perfect Dreams

I wish conditions were different
That we could last forever
That you could be less perfect
So that we mesh together

It's so hard to fill in faults
that don't exsist, without a need to have another
Is there a yin to a yang
An oxygen to a plant.

Maybe in a different place
We could celebrate eternal imperfection
So that we could perfect each other
In a land of the broken

And we would be envied
But then we would point
to the other for the reason
of our perfection in such a dreary place.

In this place it always rains
But we carry a ray of internal sunshine
That shows bright against our skin
That everyone can see

But alas, that's just a dream
When the real world catches up
I don't think there could be more of a depression
My dreams are crushed in a world of only my faults.

You belong to someone as perfect as you
A perfect yin to a perfect yang
A perfect oxygen to a perfect plant
In the end, I can only offer you my perfect dreams.
