Time's Race

It astounds me how fast time travels
It seems that it keeps winning a race it can not lose
For time is unstoppable, unbeatable, and unexplainable

It starts in the beginning
Before any miniscule hint of light
Can penetrate through

Slowly at first, but steadily increasing
It never wavers, never stops
For none can beat it
In the middle it deceives
Makes the onlooker believe that it will
Decrease in speed

Oh do not pity the poor fool
For his lack of knowledge
In time’s race

The end is near, oh but is it
Does its deception
Obscure your senses

Time is unstoppable, unbeatable, and unexplainable
It does not stand still, no matter how hard the fool wishes
It keeps it pace until the end

At the end
It is victorious once more
Once more, the seconds count down

Tick-tock
Tick-tock
Tick-tock

You lose
You fade
You’re deceived

Tick-tock
Tick-tock
Tick-tock
