Harlequin

Snow eclipses the broken light,
White filling the midnight sky,
A song that lights the Christmas night.

The moon encased by frost,
The sky tinted with copper tones,
The midnight is giving way to the dawn of a new day.

A man lies on a cold path,
Sleeping while the carollers sing,
Hiding from the winter snow

A man places the last of the presents under the tree,
The tree glistening in harlequin green,
He smiles as the snow flakes pound the summer flowers

The candles sway in the gentle wind,
Burning the same colour as the Christmas night,
A fire that flames the skyline,
As faith sleeps and waits for dawn to rise,
The night weeps and angels sing,
The smiles fade and the laughter rings.
