Angel

You think that I’m an angel.
What are you, deaf and blind?
Why can’t you see that it’s not me,
Not what I am inside?
You’re all there when I’m happy.
You all know how I laugh.
You don’t know why I sit and cry,
And tremble in the dark.
You think you see a halo,
In reality? A rope.
You cannot see, will not believe
That I no longer hope.
I don’t hope for salvation,
I don’t hope for any light.
I know we all will break and fall,
Then perish in the night.
So don’t say that I’m perfect,
We all know it’s a lie
I can’t be saved and only crave
To leave this world behind.
Yet I’ll stay here and save you,
I want to set you free;
I’m here through all, for when you fall;
You’re soul means life to me.
