Lightning
Rain is falling from the sky,
Drowning out all other noise.
Lightning streaking through the trees.
Striking houses,
Slicing open and burning trees.
I lay in bed watching this show.
This deadly tango.
This deadly ballet.
Dangerous elements let out to play.
Wind ripping through the newly ruined trees,
A lightning struck bird lays trying to breath
Rain is falling from the sky.
Now softer then a lullaby.
As I walk outside,
Rain mingling with my salty tears.
Looking at the places lightning seared
Animals licking at their wounds.
In the light of the watery moon,
I listen to a owls "Whoo."
As I think to myself,
Is the sky crying?
This storm has left so many dying.
Is the sky crying?
Drowning out all other noise.
Lightning streaking through the trees.
Striking houses,
Slicing open and burning trees.
I lay in bed watching this show.
This deadly tango.
This deadly ballet.
Dangerous elements let out to play.
Wind ripping through the newly ruined trees,
A lightning struck bird lays trying to breath
Rain is falling from the sky.

Looking at the places lightning seared
Animals licking at their wounds.

As I think to myself,
Is the sky crying?
This storm has left so many dying.
Is the sky crying?
