Afterglow

Blankets scattered and bodies intertwined,
Smoke fills his and her mind.
Lights are dimmed, oh so low,
as it’s understood quid pro quo.
A touch heightens each sensation,
and a piece of foil fuels anticipation.
The look in her eyes draws him near,
every kiss, every touch feels so sincere.
But the desire burns her inside,
and though she tries, it can no longer hide.
The kisses now bruise and burn,
as their bodies ache and yearn.
They give into the building temptation;
He looks upon her with admiration.
Every scream she makes is hushed;
her whole body is numb and flushed.
In the morning cuddled up as one,
she whispers to him “what’s done is done. “
He looks upon her glowing face,
He tries to kiss her, a simple embrace.
But alas she turns her check away,
And says “ remember lovers for a day”.
He turns and touches her soft curls,
And whispers “ I don’t want any other girls.”
She turns to roll back to sleep,
and tells him, “I’m not a girl you can keep.”
He tries to hide how hurt he is,
All he wants is to make her his.
He kisses her soft golden skin,
And pleads for her to let him in.
She looks back with soft brown eyes,
As she turns to leave and says goodbye.
