The Attic Window View...

The lightbulb casts a shadow on dusty wooden floor
While my mind continues to wage a never ending war
The tiny attic window reveals the neighborhood below
And I watch the streetside lanterns slowly begin to glow
I hear the shouting voices levitating through the air
Drowning out my whispers of a solem wishing prayer
I close my eyes to imagine a pathway to a cure
Because my torn apart reality is just too hard to endure
The sun dances with the horizon awaiting the full moon
Knowing that the darkness will be waltzing into heaven soon
I am cowering in the spotlight of my infinite despair
As the sky begins to radiate in the angelic evening air
The view outside my window illuminates the small space
As I let my mind drift into a captivating secluded place
The moonlight shines on my carmal painted skin
When the edges of my dreamworld begin to wear thin
I take one more glance to a world that is so construed
Frozen in the moments through my attic window view
