Stuart we Shall Call

I wanted, I needed to be close to you
But there as only so much that I could do
And as time passed, we all changed
But you went one way, and I went another.

We were once as close as could be
But you all suddenly decided to leave me
And you grew closer, and I grew farther
And then I was nothing but a part of the past.

Life went on, friends came and left
My heart lost all its sense of depth
I was scared of all of them leaving, too
So I closed myself off so I couldn't be hurt.

That's how it goes, I guess, but still
There's an emptiness there I can't seem to fill
It's long and empty, the road I'm on
And it's confusing with twists and turns.

You're all disappointed in the path I chose
Angry at the lies I wove
And I'm sorry for all the troubles caused
But why do you have to leave me?

Friends once, friends still, or so I thought
But you left me on my own to rot
Falling down into the hole
And no one gives a care.
