Love

If love is patient and love is kind,
Then why does it hurt,
And mangle your mind?
If love is true and full of joy,
Then why am I crying,
Because of a boy?
Was it not love?
That made me feel this way?
Or your obscenity,
That made me pray?
If love is not jealous and not proud,
Then why am I envious,
When you’re with the crowd.
It was not love,
But a mere illusion.
For real love,
Made me come to this conclusion.
Real love is only divine.
And that my friends made me open my mind.
For to love another,
You must first love yourself.
God is patient and God is kind,
His love is perfect,
His ways, divine!
He is truth and joy he brings,
For those who listen,
True love will cling.
I have seen the light of God,
Though I haven’t the slightest clue,
Of what my future brings,
My heart stays true!
