You Can Be My Strength

Hold me up, don’t let go
You can be my saviour
Dry my tears; don’t let me drown
Forgive me if I waver

Life could be so simple
If I didn’t feel so small
Life could be a dance
I could have it all

These people gather round me
They all ask “what’s the matter?”
I try to find the right words
And then rain starts with a pitter-patter

I walk out into the middle
And on the ground I lie
Listening to the sounds surrounding me I wonder
How could anyone want to die?

There is so much here that’s possible
So much beauty to see
How many chances could this world offer?
To a person just like me?

With my friends offering strength
The stuff that only they can give
I’ll look deep inside myself
And find the strength to live

Because for a while there I had lost that strength
My motivation had vanished
But I have a promise to my deepest self
That if the feeling returns it will be banished.
