The Pink Shirt

She walked in the hall wearing a pink shirt.
Looking at all the girls who get hurt.
"That will never be me." she said.
For a boy was never stuck in her head.

That was until she saw him.
A popular boy with the name of Tim.
From that moment on in her head he stayed.
To her he was a boy that heaven made.

She loved him for a while then he found out.
“Oh how embarrassing!” she wanted to shout.
But he didn’t care, not at all.
For he thought her crush was small.

Her love for him began to grow.
Her confidence was far from low.
He made her feel worth something
Even though their relationship wasn’t loving.

She would always think back to the day they met.
If she hadn’t met him how far would she get?
In the game of love he wouldn’t be smart.
But she loved the pink shirt with all of her heart.

Then one day he wasn’t the same.
Not to her at least he wasn’t tame.
He was wild, pervy and quite rude.
He wasn’t someone who suited her mood.

That day in school there was a donation.
She wanted to give something, before winter vacation.
She threw something on the pile.
Hoping it would make needy people smile.

And next to an old knapsack
Was her loved pink shirt from the Gap.
