Misfortune

The deck was clear;
She gingerly opened the door and gazed up to the sky.
It was sprinkled with brilliant diamond-like stars.
Yet she saw no stars, nor moon without him.
All she saw was his emerald orbs and his brilliant grin.
Curse her father;
Who had separated her from the love of her life.
She silently slipped off her shoes and lifted her dress,
Which matched the color of the ferocious waves of the ocean,
So it wouldn’t drag.
She looked down to the water from the front of the deck.
She closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
The wind blew, and she let herself be carried by it.
Cold. Cold was what she felt;
Perhaps even happiness
As her body hit the water.
One thing is certain,
She never felt fear,
For she would meet
With her love once again.
