you are the bridge
and i'm staring at the water again
holding onto the rail
and praying from the strength
to let go of you.

you are the roof
and i'm staring at the cement again
balancing on the edge
and praying for the selfishness
to fall from you.

you are the bottle
and i'm staring at the pills again
counting them in my hand
and praying for the courage
to empty you.
