Addiction
The pain she feels as her blood flows is strong
Cutting deeper, the pain strikes
Closing her eyes, takes a deep breath
Losing conscience, misery is what she dislikes
But she cannot help living that way
A blade is what she wants
Love is what she needs
Together they make so meaning
Again, she rips her wrist open
Her heart drenched in blood
The knife touches her skin
Causing a loud, painful thud
Cannot help the pain
Suffers the same everyday
When asked to stop by her soul
The reply was ‘NO WAY!’
Simple addiction to harming herself
Was nothing she could stop by holding her breath
The next step to her addiction
Was causing her own death
Nothing stopped her doing this sin
Until that day when the plan was arranged
She suddenly saw the bright side of things
And her thoughts somehow changed
But addiction is nothing easy to handle
And she couldn’t stop but use that blade
Her arm like hair, she cut and cut
Too addicted to stop, too afraid
One day, she gathered up her strength
And took her blade, that one she kept
Threw it in the river, leaving memories to fear
Watching it sink into the depth, she felt love was near
Love will come, by stopping what you cannot stop
For the sake of happiness in life
Addiction is something you can stop
Even if it’s dealing with a knife
Cutting deeper, the pain strikes
Closing her eyes, takes a deep breath
Losing conscience, misery is what she dislikes
But she cannot help living that way
A blade is what she wants
Love is what she needs
Together they make so meaning
Again, she rips her wrist open
