Fade

Everyone's talking about
These tattoos that dance along our skin
Just show scars with more lovely stories as yours
Maybe if I closed my eyes and pretended you were mine
It would come true
My lips are chapped as unspoken words fall into the air
You smile and then everything comes falling down.

She could've never been as tasteful
As if I ever imagined
And he could've never been as hurtful
As he throws the punches world wide
Mood swings left and right
This pale skin with bumps along the wrists
Confusion sets its number for all of us to watch
And she smiles as though nothing is wrong.

The mixture of coffee and whiskey
Diamonds in the shapes of hearts
Crushes are suppose to go away but this one just won't
Guilt rising in my throat
I could never hurt him this way
I'm sorry but I don't know what to say
My heart's breaking as his face turns to one of horror
Even more when she starts to frown
When did this situation decide to show it's back to me
My insides are on fire as I take my steps away
My heart turning to ashes
Love really never liked me anyway
So I guess it never really mattered
That the gun had my name on it
I only wish I could've seen everything they turned out to be.
