Dancing on Diamonds

We decorated the room with cinnamon
and hung snow from the rafters.
Susan dried up Thanksgiving and
sewed it to a quilt who is now
Standing guard with the jungle-in-laws.
Alice blew fresh air on all the clouds,
So Grandma Powder can dream of hay at night.
Young Jack stole icy kisses and hung them
Above the doors and now Sandy
Is as pink as a poodle.
We stretch out in the spices and take a
Slice of snowy sunshine in hopes that
Before long, mother will bring out
A Cake of Richest Gold.
