Light of My Life

Grief doesn't strike when Death takes a life,
Grief hits the wall when you're losing it all.

Grief eats away at the joy and brings pain,
Grief shows love and who's sent from above.

Grief made his way through the bars yesterday,
Grief sits in my life and is gnawing, brings strife.

Grief brought me one good thing, though, so listen:
Grief showed me what love is, how it shines, how it glistens.

He's a part of my life and he always will be,
Even though one day he'll be taken from me.

He still makes me laugh, when before I would cry,
He brings a smile to my face and I'm glad that he tried.

I'll love you forever, and I will be all right,
Because of my Granddad, the light in my life.
