Here Comes The Rain

I heard you silently whisper
that you would never leave.
Opening my eyes I realized
that you were never there.

So I ran.

Over space and time I flew.
Moments streached to months
as the years passed, still searching
for that space in your heart I once was.

Here comes the rain.

Lost in a cloud as vast as my imagination.
Looking for you where angels soar, Nothing.
The messages I recieved from you I put on show
for all to see, written horizontaly accross my wrists.
It wasn't sagacious, but I was proud to say
I had a reason for my misery and bliss.

To the grave yard.

Wandering for what seemed like forever,
2920 exasperating days. Eight long, long years.
I resent the day I heard you whisper,
ever taking your messages to heart. You just aren't there.
I have enough strength for one last letter.
I'd do anything to get you out of my head.

The gun evaporates to nothing in my hand.
My eyes flutter closed as a chill wind blows
followed by fingers slowly interlocking with mine.
I felt your heart beat, and a tender kiss to my lips,
forever to linger. This is the nightmare I had been waiting for.
Falling asleep in your arms, I wake only to realize.....
that you were never there.
