Innocent Child of God

Dear child of God,

Daughter descended from the woman,

Eve,

Still pure are you,

Though often challenged,

Tempted by the devil.

His claws scratch your flesh,

But your heart,

Made of steel,

Remains unscathed,

How often you are tempted,

And yet,

Resist.

Heart glowing with blinding white,

Burning purity,

But this comes with a price,

Ay child?

For God has witnessed your pain,

Stinging tears have fallen from your eyes,

Stained your cheeks,

Pained the witnesses.

You have broken,

Crumbled under pressure

Like a twig breaking under the weight of a heavy heel.

Scratches have been made

Upon the steel that now bends,

Your childish innocence is drifting away,

Depression has revealed itself upon your face.

The Lord frowns,

As a father does when his daughter grows,

but do not give up hope!

For like a father, His arms are always waiting for you to return,

To mend the scars left by the devil.

He reinforces you steel,

Fights the battle with you,

Shields you from further damage,

No matter how often you stray from the path.

So do not fret,

Child,

For he is always waiting for your return
