The Ties That Bound Me

Well, thats that.
No more daydreaming of a hero's return
No longer hoping for a lady's welcome
Instead, I have a new flame to burn

The chains that shackled me to you are gone
Never to bind me again
I'm through of being your prisoner
And once again walk on the mortal plane

Twas a good lesson for me
And one I'm grateful seeded
However painful it was,
It was something I truly needed

As I fell from the peak
I realized it was only a filler
For something much less fickle
Something that should be a pillar

But this is not the end
No, not by far
As you were a friend
Our bond will not scar

As I look into the ball
I see a new day
Because what I have gained
Outweighs the loss and dismay
